Thanks! First will be a work bench and then a few items for the grill. I am working up to building a flatbed and bumpers for the Ranger.

On the hottest day to date, I finally had a chance to get the spark plugs and boots change. It definitely runs smoother now. And number 7 and 8 plugs were not tight at all. I anti-siezed all plugs and new stainless coil pack bolts. I torqued the plugs to 20 ft-lb since they were lubricated threads. Dielectric grease was applied to the ceramic on the spark plugs and where the boot meets the coil pack.

Autolite XP103 Iridium Plugs to replace the Motorcraft Platinums ($31.04 - $24.00 rebate = $7.04 total cost)
Denso 6718110 Boot Kit
Stainless Bolt Kit
I also have a Denso 6736000 Ignition Coil In the truck as a spare. When i was going through this change, I discovered that #4 and #7 were replaced by the preivous owner with Denso units. I replaced #5 with a Denso unit on another occasion.

Tools required (a few additional sockets and extensions were also used):

New parts:

Nicely done. Good choice on the extra coil pack too, saved my but once before. Have one in the truck and one extra at home.

This gearwrench magnetic set worked well for me.

I saw those sockets. What is special about them? And I think I got the idea from you to have the extra in the truck.

They are a one piece magnetic and swivel spark plug socket.

Start at 5:30

Got the cooling system flushed and a new water pump, radiator, and fan belt in the Ranger. It's ready for inspection next Friday minus greasing all the joints and checking tire pressure. Now it is time for a little F250 love.

These got dropped off today:

So the plan for this weekend is:
  1. Rotate Tires
  2. Grease unit bearings and front caliper slide pins
  3. Replace front swaybar bushings with Energy Polyurethane to get rid of the under floorboard clunk
  4. Replace front track bar bushings to make sure front end is nice and tight
  5. Replace steering stabilizer that has lost all fluid
  6. Change power steering fluid
  7. Replace front turn signals with LED counter parts
  8. Replace passenger rear door lock solenoid
Let's see what i actually get accomplished...

You'll need a ep27 flasher so you dont get hyper flash if you don't have one already. My Amazon one has been running fine for a few years, much better then paying the 80$ from napa.

Thanks! Already have it installed. I had a tilight burn out a few weeks back so I upgraded taillight bulbs to LED and did it then. Mine occasionally buzzes and I’m not sure why. But I figured I’d replace the front turn signals to match.

Well I didn't get anywhere near what I wanted to get done because we went out and had fun instead. I got the sway bar bushings done (after getting the stock link stuck on my press, and is still there), tires rotated, and stabilizer installed. I got new links from Advance that were greasible which should do for now. There is a very nice improvement in handling up front. The rest of the weekend was a combo of wave pool, parent's pool, and friend's pontoon which was a lot more fun that working in the 90 degree sun.

Will continue to work on the other items over time. I should note that I did not realize how high the track bar bolts were tightened too. That alone was why I did not tackle that portion this weekend.

yeah it's like 400ft lbs. I installed my shackle and perch leveling kit and had to have a shop install the track bar.

I may use this as an excuse to get a 3/4" impact wrench. I have some big sockets, but my 1/2" compact wrench just doesn't have the cojones... I also have a 4 ft extension for my breaker bar which may help too.

This past weekend was a wash due to rain, rain, and more rain. Thank you tropical storms...

Wife's Explorer goes for undercoating at Ziebart tomorrow. Ranger failed inspection. It needs tie rod ends up front. The parts are on the way. Next item is my grass. Hasn't been cut in 2 weeks and we have just gotten more rain than we have all summer. All progress will continue when the sun shines again.

yeah it's been a bummer here too. Was still able to pull the bride to be off of my windshield though. Water probably helped a little bit, although standing on a ladder in the rain wasn't the smartest.

where do you go to get the ziebart and do you think its worth doing if there's already rust or do you think I should work on remediating it first?
