I'm not biased to the white typically, but black trucks are very hard to keep clean. The white one appears to be in better condition, but pictures can be misleading. I'm not a fan of the exhaust set on the black one either; sounds good, so how often did the owner go WOT to enjoy it? Just curious on 'care' by the PO on the black one.
Trade is always hard, so if you can sell it and recoup the 'tax break' a trade gives you are always better offf. You are not in any hurry, so you can wait. The dealer needs to sell the truck more than you need to buy it. This is a good position to be in.

That is good info. I did not think of how the black on may have been abused and I know black is very hard to keep clean.
The white dealer called me this morning and I just called them back. He wanted to see what I thought of everything and how I liked the black one. I said they were about as similar as could be and the wife and I would talk about it more later in the week when we meet up. We will see if they try to sweeten the deal...
I need to figure out what I want to do. And I am leaving for vacation in the morning so it probably won't get accomplished today lol.

Well I had a chance to discuss it with the wife some more... and we are going to wait on newer one. Waiting longer and fixing a few problem items that are eating at my value I think will be worth it in the long run.
We may take a ride up to a nearby dealer to look at the green Lariat ultimate I mentioned above and they had a KR diesel with a 6.7 I'd like to drive. I just want her to know the emotional strain she put me through in the first place

Long time, no post. Not much to update on. Truck has been working very well so I have been able to enjoy summer instead of going hog wild on vehicle repairs. Biggest mod this summer was adding a hitch and cargo carrier to the wife's GV for our trip to Rehoboth last week. That worked out great once I added a turn down exhaust tip so nothing else melted to the cargo bag...
Also did some work on the quad. Had some grounding issues to deal with that was causing the FI to stall at random. Got that all taken care of. I have a few other touch ups to do like painting the racks with bed liner and change the fluids, but that's it. No rides planned anytime soon, so no hurry.
I am thinking of doing some wet sanding on the truck hood with a few good coats of wax to make the awful peeling clear look a bit better. They whole truck needs a good wax anyway.
Next big ticket on the list is going to be the manifolds... just not sure what path I will take and how much I want to send. Other than that, I have sway bar bushings I can install and replace the carrier bearing. I think it is causing me some vibration.
Hope everyone is having a great summer

Not much to update on. Been working on my quad since I had some stalling issues with it and got that resolved. Currently working on a Emglo wheelbarrow compressor I got for my buddy as a house warming present. And I am getting ready to convert the office in our house into a baby room. My wife and I are expecting our first in February of 2018.

My son is a February baby, many moons ago...
Your updates are about to become even less frequent and further apart!

This man speaks the truth, car/truck stuff will be put aside, it's almost as if your time just disappears, however kids are awesome. Love my Daughter.

Thanks!
It will be strictly maintenance for a while... I'm hoping the tiny human will have an interest in this kinda stuff eventually... boy or girl, but we will see. I have a feeling the time will just disappear. But its the next step in life... I have been able to talk the wife out of it long enough for her to get her R.N. and get to where we feel ok financially to pull this off Probably the last time i'll be able to persuade her of anything

Got up to the mountains a few weekends ago and got to tow my buddy's new trailer to the trails. The 5.4 was working pretty hard with the truck fully loaded with people and quad plus the trailer. Those 4.30 gears will be nice someday lol.
Truck is in for undercoat at Ziebart today. It will get an oil bath following that. It's pumpkin spice and oil undercoat season. Garage near my house has a sign out saying that Pumpkin Spice Brake Pads are back in stock
Also, just before camp we found out we are having a little boy. I can't wait for my little garage helper to be born
