Options to upgrade foggy/dim headlights

I have a 2000 with the aweful looking/dim headlights. My question is is there a cheap bulb upgrade that would make my lights brighter? Would changing to the 02-03 lens work better? I like the 05-07 lights but i dont want to spend that kind of money yet to do that swap. Thanks for the help

02-03 are a cheap and effective way to get better light. On top of that a lot of people I have read on here went with Silverstar bulbs. I went with the expensive Silverstar cant remember what there called but roughly 60 a pair.

For the 05-07 there are many ways to do it. You can go the most expensive route which is everythin from header panel, bumper, lights and grill. Or if I recall right you can do just the lights.

I like the look of mine with the 02-03 and clear markers, and visibility is much better. And I went ebay for mine, so I think lights, corners, housings, and amber bulbs, I got maybe 150 or so wrapped up in it. Maybe a little more, it was over a year ago.

Last year I bought a set of '02 style headlights from supporting vendor 1A Auto for my 2000 Excursion.

I just got around to installing them last month at the last NorCal get-together at Andy's place.

$134 bucks and the improvement was well worth it.

X2 on the '02 headlights - I used the same OEM bulb, and they work much better. I may try silverstars in them when they burn out. Tugly has had good luck with those, and he's still using the OEM headlight lenses on his '00.

Everyone else is going to post pictures. Hmmm, I love posting pictures.

Ebay 02-03, Ebay Turn signals

6k HID all around

Passenger 5k HID, 6K HID fogs, Driver Silverstar

Driver Silverstar, Passenger Silverstar ZXE

All 4 Silverstar ZXE (which is what I run now)

Now with these pictures I did a lot of playing around just for looks, and somewhat better light. Now these HID's I used were not the top quality HID's. These were used to get basic looks, and to check out the light spread. I would not use these HID's for anything other than looks, but there are other high quality brands out there that people here really like. I moved away from the HID's due to the laws in Texas being so questionable as to if there legal or not. Some cities don't care, but others do.

Now from the Silverstar I have used, the Gold I think, and the ZxE's I will go with the ZxE even though there more expensive. People seem to go with the Gold because the Ultra (next up) supposedly dont last long. I have no experiences in this, so no comment on that. As far as the ZxE's are concerned there more than bright enough for me, even living in the country, and have been on the truck for about 6 months now with no issues.

Thats all I got.

I think they were Eagle Eyes from Amazon. I dont see the set I bought there now. The Ebay option is probably what I'd do now if I needed them.

$.02
I bought a set of these off flee-bay a few months back. Mine came with brighter bulbs than stock and the one piece design made the front end look much cleaner. The LED's are a nice look too. 5 min with a dremel and they fit nice.

Yours look just like the ones I put on my Excursion. I know price is always a consideration for people (I know it is for me! ) but if the price is close, my first choice would be 1A Auto. I've bought from them twice now when I purchased a set of '08+ mirrors and the '02 headlights. The quality is top notch, the fitment is as good as OEM, and they are a supporting vendor here at FTE.

Quality is a good point. I'm happy with the eagle eyes, but I did have to do some flash trimming to get the marker bulbs to twist in, and the black collars that came with them to secure the headlight bulbs were poorly molded, so I re-used the OEM collars.

Good read here. I too am looking to replace my ugly 01 EX headlights.
Has anyone had experience with these?
