saw this on local C/L thought one of my fellow FTE'ers might be interested .
I have no ties with this item for sale , just trying to help out . 67-68 Ford F100 Short Bed for Sale
Put me next in line for that short bed been looking for years for a good bed to use on my truck seen some at swap meets but they can shove it where the sun don't shine for the 1,200 asking price for a surface rust covered bed with a 2" circle hole blasted right in the side of the bed with what looked to be a torch
Well, it's over 1600 miles to Pa from here. There's no way I could drive up there and back at a reasonable price, but it might be possible to find somebody to haul it as back-haul freight or something. If it was going to be towed, it would need a new hitch. I only towed it forty miles to get it home. The hitch that's on it is a piece of junk.
I just bought it because I didn't want to see it crushed hoping to find somebody that could use it. Seriously, I'm not making any money off it at 400. There were two scrap-metal guys at the auction and I bought the Supercab, another Dentside, and the bumpside bed to save them.
I was just busting your chops. I know it wouldn't be feasible to deliver it to Pa.
Shipping it via freight would cost too much as well. It used to be where you could get a back haul for cheap but not any more unless you know an independent trucker (which I don't).
It's too bad. That would save me a lot of work fixing mine.
I'll do a bit of checking tomorrow. A friend of mine bought a small tractor off E-bay a few years ago and it was delivered by a guy in a pick up pulling a bumper pull trailer. He said it was some sort of deal where these guys will haul light freight for nearly nothing, just to get the chance to see the country and get paid for their fuel. I'll see if he remembers how to contact them.
That's something I always wanted to do but never had a truck reliable enough to be able to go cross country yet alone pulling a trailer for the right price I'd give it a shot now that I have a decent daily driver
