Question for Edge Sport owners...

I'm about to pull the trigger on a '13 Edge. I'm teetering between the Sport & Limited models. I LOVE the look of the Sport, but I worry that I may tire of the stiff ride on the 22s. I've driven a Sport with the 22s, and a Limited with the 20s, and didn't notice much difference in ride quality. Do any of you regret getting the Sport model because of the stiffer ride?

Somewhat different from what you are asking, but...we have an '11 MKX w/20" wheels. Have driven a '13 rental w/18" wheels twice, and both my wife and I think the 18s ride better than the 20s.
If you are young and don't mind a 'sport' ride, fine, but maybe you ought to try a SEL with the 18s just for comparison?
I am of the opinion that these SUVs need just a little more rubber between the road and the wheel to soften the ride.

The salesman asked me the same thing, re: an SEL... but I want the upgraded Sony stereo (so little aftermarket audio for the Edge), which limits me to the Limited or Sport trims. The Limited IS available with standard 18s... but I prefer the look of the 20s... just wish they were real chrome, & not plastic covers. Drove both again last night... was happy to see that MFT recognized my Zune. Took a while to build the index, but cover art & everything went right to the screen... Yay! I found the difference in ride quality between the 20s & 22s to be negligible... It was an interesting contrast... the Sport had ONE option (nav)... the Limited had EVERY option (pkg. 302A), but only $2500 difference in price. I thought the difference in power between the 3.5L & 3.7L was negligible as well, so will probably come down to whichever I can get the best deal on (Sport/Limited). The salesman seemed to indicate he could get me a better deal on the limited... we shall see.

Odd about the power--isn't it the same 365hp in the Taurus? 60hp ought to be noticeable.

I believe you're thinking of the EXPLORER Sport... which has the Ecoboost V6 in it. The Edge Sport has the 306 hp 3.7L V6 ala Mustang, whereas the remainder of the Edge line has the 285 hp 3.5L V6... only a 20 hp difference, & not very noticeable- most likely due to the bigger, heavier 22" wheels on the Sport.

Yes, was thinking Explorer...thanks.
My wifes MKX has the 305hp v6 in it--when you get on it, it goes.
