I have an 89 mustang gt. And I'm thinking about dropping a 460 in it. What are your thoughts about it?

Been done plenty of times. Pretty much a bolt in swap with the right parts. It's a great swap for a drag car or pro street style street car. Not so great if you actually want the car to handle going around curves. It adds a lot of nose weight to the car. Which not only hurts the handling but also hurts the braking.

A 351W is a better swap choice. It's a lighter engine then the 460 and can make plenty of power if built right.

But it really depends on what you want to accomplish with the swap.

Do it! But when you do use manifolds and face them forward stick a 72-75mm turbo on it from like a Detroit diesel 6v92. Cheep power.

A 351W punched out to 408 is probably the best choice there.

If I had someone GIVE ME a 460, I'd use it to build a truck - no question about it. It would be a pure grunt high torque plow monster from mars!

But for a 'Stang you definitely want to watch that front end suspension loading.
