Quick question for anyone subscribed to this thread. I recently had a headlight go out and so I replaced them with the Sylvania (sp?) Ultravisions and they started to flicker on and off while I was driving. It was after I had been driving for awhile and it wasn't a steady flicker. The truck did this with the old headlights but only when I had the hi beams on. So I decided to get new headlight harnesses from the junkyard because my sidemarker wires were hacked up and I thought maybe that would fix the issue because it wasn't completing a circuit. I replaced the harnesses and it still does this and now neither of the marker lights are working. I have also tried new bulbs and everything so that isn't it. I am currently scouring for wiring diagrams. I found one at fordification.net but it's for a 74. not sure if they were that different. Also I am probably going to throw a new dimmer switch in it too and see if that helps.

With flickering lights I would suspect either bad grounds, loose or corroded connections or a messed up headlight switch.
Once you do track down the problem you might also want to check into relay set up for the headlights. Not absolutely needed but a nice up grade.
Oh yea I almost forgot to tell you that is a cool looking truck!!

Thanks man. I love the truck. I put the new dimmer in and had no results. The old harnesses still have working marker lights but the new ones do on good grounds. I'll check all my grounds tomorrow and if no luck I might just buy a new headlight switch there was some curly wiring going into the headlight switch like it got too hot. I will try to post a picture tomorrow and let you know what works

Got the new headlight switch and am working on repairing the bad spot in the brown wire. The brown wire seems to be really badly coiled like it got too hot. My wiring diagram is showing a brown wire that goes to the parking and turn signal lights so that might be my problem. I'm thinking.

Been having all sorts of vehicle issues as of late. This 75 ended up spinning a bearing on the highway and then blew a freeze plug. So I picked up an 04 Powerstroke and that ended up blowing injector seals so I fixed it once, drove it for a week and the IPR Valve went out so I'm in the process of replacing that but I am driving a 79 F150 for the time being... too many trucks for my own good, but then again. I don't mind.
