Running on jet fuel

So I was low on fuel the other day at work in Atlanta (not diesel friendly where I was at) and my boss suggested I just drain a few gallons of jet fuel out of a jet that was in for maintenance. I know jet A has no lubrication properties once so ever and wanted to know what ratio of jet fuel to diesel is safe, or better yet how much engine oil I need to add per gallon of jet fuel to be on the safe side. I've heard from alot of people 1 qt. of any engine oil per 30 gallons is about right, any input from you guys?

Jet-A is basicly kerosene so treat it as such. You are actually allowed to mix k-1 in onroad diesel during winter months.

My 81 Jetta diesel manuel said you could mix like 20% gas so maybe 10% jet would be OK? IDK

Last shop I was at guys did it all the time. We had a king air come in that needed new fuel blatters. We had to drain something like 150 gallons of jet fuel from it, everyone was filling their trucks up.

Here in Afghanistan, JP-8 is what we run in ALL the diesel vehicles. Depends on what type of "jet fue" it is.

Jp-8 is nothing more then jet-a with a few additives for the military. Its still kerosene. You can run either straight in your powerstroke, although jp-8 is not legally available to the public, power will be about 15% less and egts will be about 10% up

I ran over 50,000 miles with my '90 7.3 on jetA, nothing added to it. I have a friend with a '96 that has been running jet A for about 10 years with nothing added to it and no problems. jet A is kerosene which is #1 diesel they all are the same at the fuel dock, jet A is filtered to a smaller micron, but still the same fuel. my '90 owners manual diesel engine supplement lists kerosene as an approved fuel. I never looked in my '97 book.
