My rear end needs a boost...kinda

Hey guys, So i lifted my truck a few months ago and I used a 2.5 front leveling kit (04 with leafs btw) and i bought a rear 5" block to replace my 2" block. The place that installed my lift for me stacked my rear blocks because the front actually lifted closer to 4" because the front springs must have been sagging. The rear was going to sit lower than the front which i personally don't like and I am thankful that they checked at least so that i didn't ride around nose high but I'm not a big fan of stacked blocks. What would be the best way to make up that 2" or 1" in the rear so that I don't lose my towing capacity really and don't get a super stiff ride? I read AAL's are stiff and i cant find anything lower than a 3" rear lift spring. do you guys have any idea's?

I have 5" blocks and 2" AAL's in my truck. Yes, the AAL's were pretty stiff for a few days... but once they got broken in a bit they were much better. Truck barely sags when towing/hauling... love 'em.

Really? I figured they wouldn't break in and soften up. What brand do you have? Aldo are they the long or short ones?

They are Tuff Country AAL springs. They did start to ride better over time, or maybe I just got used to them I put them in about 3 years ago... paid about 80 bucks for them online. I don't know their exact length, but they are shorter and go towards the bottom of the leaf spring pack.

coo thanks, i have been hesitant to try AAL's but for 80 bucks i guess that's not bad at all, how much lift did you get from them? I even thought about getting a PMF rear shackle flip or something.

yeah I paid 80 bucks about 3 years ago... not sure if they've gone up at all, but shop around. The ones I got were for 2" of lift, of course I didn't measure before and after. It looked pretty close though. Gave my truck a little rake which I like.

i went to a local spring shop in my town, i paid 100 dollars for two custom bent long add a leaf's. I didnt want them to add alot of lift, before and after was 1 1/4" they now settled in at 7/8" of lift and gave me an extra 900lbs of payload and my ride in my opinion is better now than when stock

Thanks you guys i appreciate it! I have a local spring shop near me maybe ill give them a call and see how much. I always thought that add-a-leaf kits were just a way to get more payload and they sacrificed ride quality.

I'm odd for a 28 year old guy, i love leaf spring trucks and i like a dump truck rides in TRUCKS. With that said my F350 with pro comp front diesel springs and rear long add a leaf is now where near rough or dump truck like, i prefer the added spring strength and the solid feeling i get while driving my truck now. I never liked the body roll it had when she was stock sprung........

xmont you and drey both have 35's so the added tire should make your trucks smoother over bumps compared to my pizza cutter 255/85r16 tires on my ext cab short bed 5.4 Super Duty.

its weird my buddy from high school has a 2009 f250 crew cab long bed diesel and his truck literally rides like a car, its like driving on a sheet of glass. But when I'm in it i feel like the body roll is CRAZY then when hes in my truck hes like dude you need to buy a newer Ford this old leaf spring design sucks....... But my truck isn't like a old people car its like a newer sports car ride, yea you feel bumps but it handles like its on train rails
