My old GMC got sold:

As part of the trade, I got a new toy for the Excursion.

Its very dirty but it should wash after some TLC. Inside is still brand new.. it sat under a tree for over 3 years and used as storage.. now its mine..

oh right.. the generator.

Just a simple tool kit from Craftsman.
Nice excursion. What year and engine? I have an 01 with a 7.3. Nice compressor and craftsman kit.

So anyone ever pull off the boot and spring off of a coil on plug? The Spade terminal the springs connect to on mine were green and corroded. I cleared up a #8 misfire by cleaning it. Going to do the rest tomorrow before work.

the one upside of it is you can use the opportunity to do a nice cleaning on everything since it wont be so crammed..

I dont think I have to do it yet, Les.
Last time I went underneath I was only leaking at the plug and it was very minimal...
I'll definitely keep your offer in mind though.

I was actually looking at getting an engine hoist to actually lift the truck (one end at a time)... saw a pic of someone doing that here at FTE...

Yours leaking also? There is a fiberglass shell you can put over the drop part if it is leaking from there. I tried it but I scraped pack rust off the up front section and it started leaking up there after. I think it would have worked if not for that.

That must be one hell of a beefy lift to do that. But why did they do that?

Not sure what size but it wouldnt need to be any more than 2.5 ton really. I think they were working on a leaf spring swap... Seems like an easy way to quickly get the front end off the ground and not have to deal with jacks... although jack stands would definitely be recommended lol
