Hi Guys, newbey with a radiator fittment question

Greetings from Oregon, I just dragged home a pretty badd a## 1960 F100 4X4, 292 ci.
After some inspections this thing (running gear) looks pretty well put together, the body has some cancer but that's a problem for another day.
The problem at hand, it's been sitting in my neighbors yard for several years and someone has acquired/stolen the radiator.
After doing some Google searches all I'm coming up with so far is some E bay aluminum units and LMC (@$469, ouch). The parts listing seem really vague about interchangeability. Can anyone tell me if the core supports changed in 60 and made it a "stand alone" unit, i seriously doubt it but have nothing to compare to and there seems to be little if any eng compartment pic to be found. I have no problem with a new radiator off the bay if I can have some confidence it will bolt up. Thanks in advance and if this project advances I look fwd to making friends and being "in the club".......Cheers

That's a pic I found of a 57 with a Y motor, looks like just what I need, anyone know if it will bolt to my core support ??
Starting to think the 60 4x4 may be a bit of an oddity .......

welcome and cant wait to see pictures of your truck!

you will be recommended to get a shop manual-at least once, I agree they are valuable...

I am not sure on fitment...all I can tell you is they the radiator on my 60 with a 223 has the lower outlet on passenger side. Someone will be along to help you, lots of great guys here. wish I could help more sirrrrrrrrr

Hi Guys, newbey with a radiator fittment question

Hi Horizonmech, and welcome to the forum.

As far as I know, and I have now a 57 and have owned in the past, a 58 and a 59, all V-8 radiators fit interchangeably. As mentioned above, the 6 cyl. rad. is not going to work for a V-8, or vice-versa.

Hope this helps you.

Aloha, Tony

57-60 272/292 mounts the same, for the F100 and F250's. Choice between three or four core, Auto or manual.
Welcome to the forum!
Good luck in your quest.

One more question and I will quit pestering you guy's for a while, anyone know the inlet and outlet sizes......I believe it's 1.75 top and 2" bottom....I'm narrowing it down to most likely an E-bay unit.....Thanks

Here's a link for what you need for radiator. I bought mine there for my six cylinder, great quality. They don't give them away but once you buy one of these, you won't have to worry about it again unless someone steals it again! Ford Truck, 1957-60 V8 Radiator
Enjoy your truck.

Jeeeze Ive NEVER tried to find a part online that had such vague fitment data and lack of dimensional size. Just Wierd to me.......Think I have the redheadded step....Everyone say's they know what I need," but oh ya really not sure"......no wonder the seller was pretty motivated ..........heh
The radiator looks like it will cost more than the whole truck.....

I bought an alum one on Ebay. I by mistake bought the one for a GM engine swap .With the cost of sending it back,I just made the alterations myself. It works just great.

Either of these radiators can be used, as the only difference is the thickness of the core. 2WD or 4WD makes no difference, neither does A/T or M/T.

B9TT-8005-V (replaced B7C-8005-B) .. 272/292 Radiator / 23 7/8" high x 20" wide / 2" core thickness / 1957/60 F100/250 & F350 with SRW

B9TT-8005-N (replaced B7Y-8005-B) .. 272/292 Radiator / 23 7/8" high x 20" wide / 2 1/4" core thickness / 1957/60 F350 with DRW & F500/600.

COTB-16138-C (replaced B7C-16138-A) .. Radiator Support ~ 1957/60 F100/600.
