Can anyone tell me an acceptable labor cost or shop hrs. to install the Hellwig sway bar? I need to make a decision. I'm past my mechanical prime (71 yrs. old) and may shop around for this. In my earliar years , there wasn't much I wouldn't tackle, but laying under the "Beast" for several hrs. isn't something I should try.

I had mine done at a local 4x4 shop a few years back for $75...
It should only take an hour or two, just look at the installation instructions online. The color photos make a huge difference in figuring out what to do. Call the grandkids and tell them to do it.

Grandkids are 290 miles away. Good excuse to hook the TT to the X and go visit. I just got back Monday from a 4 day weekend visit.
I was quoted installing an OEM sway bar for $72. The actual labor on the aftermarket Hellwig was more because of difficulties. It was 1.5 hrs.= $135.
I guess since I had it installed at a 4x4 shop, that's pretty much all they do. Tech did my Hellwig in under an hour, a week later installed my RAS in under an hour also. $75 each time.
Have you found improved performance with these after market rear sway bars for both towing and daily driving? I tow sporadically, but usually over 100 miles, and I considered putting one on my suburban, but never did.

YES, I just installed them on my 05' Yesterday and had them on my previous Ex. In my opinion there is nothing better without short of replacing your leaf springs than the RAS with a rear stabilizer for a stock spring Ex. Whether your empty or towing, you can't beat it for the money... No I do not work for RAS. RAS will give your EX what I refer to as a tightass rather than a sloppy one. Get both the Hellwig sway bar and ras together, you won't regret the purchase

The non-towing ride and handling is much improved. I haven't towed with it, but am expecting a positive improvement. I gained 1/2" in rear ht. and lost the same in front while unloaded.
