'00 5.4 gasser cat removed.

Wow. Alot more pick up and a 2 mpg increase according to my lie-o-meter. Really woke this truck up in conjunction with the cold air induction I fabbed up.

Did you knock out the crap inside and weld back on or did you just remove it all together?

Under federal law, yes.

If there was indeed that much increase in mpg and power, the cat was probably bad.

Replaced with straight 3" exhaust pipe. Seems to work good so far. When I get in it my lie-o-meter drops off but climbs right back up to 15 MPG. At best I was getting 13.2 before. I am talking about running between 60 and 65 steady. Seems to be a good mod so far. Time will tell.

No state required inspections where I live.

i had my cat removed for about four years on my truck..... besides stinking exhaust smell i didnt get better MPG or power
