Show me your BASS!!!

That's right. I'm looking to add BASS to my 2000 F250 Crew Cab Lariat 4x4.

I'm looking to add 2 12" Subs behind the back seat. Under the back seat would work for me too if someone builds custom boxes for under the seat. I'm going 100% sealed box so I have less air/space I need vs. a ported box.

I know it's possible since I had 2 12" Audiobahn 1200Qs under the back seat of my X-Cab 98 F150. Yes, I had to raise the seat 2" to make room. But, it sounded AWESOME!!!

I also know there is a mod for the middle of my front 40/20/40 seat. But, I want to get rid of that seat and ad captains chairs and a tuffy console there. If I could move that seat to the back seat and put a 15" sub under it, that'd be sweet... But, that's a LONG way off...

This may help. My sub setup is on the second page of threads and it was as simple as building the box to fit behind the seat using a shallow mount Pioneer 12" sub.

Thanks... I just read over both of those. Neither one really accomplishes what I'm working on. But, did give me some "ideas".

For now, I'm adding a 10" Kicker in a ported box behind the rear seat. I have room for 2 but, I'm reserving my fundage for a later date when I do decide to go all out and build a full custom box for 2 12" Audiobahns. But, my other option is to replace the rear bench seat with a pair of captains chairs and do a 15" Audiobahn in a console in between them. I'm also planning on replacing the front seats with captains chairs and adding a 2nd 15" Audiobahn there.

So, in the mean time, this crappy 600W 10" Amp/Box combo should suffice.

I read in one of those two threads someone was looking for a sub mount using the "20" seat. Here's a 10" JL Audio solution from Crutchfield.

I personally chose not to go this route for 2 reasons. 1, I want to get rid of the 40/20/40 and go with captains chairs and a custom console. But, it would have worked "for now". 2, The frequency response on this sub doesn't go as low as the subs I'd like. I don't want to spend $550.00 on a box.

The current solution I'm settling on for now is the Kicker box below:

The matching Amp for this sub is the 600.1 and they both are rated to 25Hz. Still not low enough for me but, lower then the JL Audio was rated for.

Eventually, I'll build this up right and move this setup into my GFs Explorer. I prefer a sealed enclosure (space saving and Harder/Cleaner BASS) with subs that'll do sub 20Hz.

IF I get to replace both front and rear seats with captains chairs, I'll build one full center console from back to front and incorporate 2 sealed boxes for 2 15" down pounding subs. This will be years in the making as I'm much to **** to just settle for cheap seats. I'll have to start looking now to find exactly what I want for both front and back seat.

Here is my setup. I took the seat out and flipped the brackets to give me some more space.

I have had close to twenty different setups in my truck and this is the best sounding as afar SQL and SPL.

You wouldn't believe what one good sub can provide. Components in my signature.

I don't have any pics of it, it's uneventful, 13.5" JL sub behind the rear seat in a SPL2k enclosure.

I pulled the back seat off the frame and drilled 4 new holes about 2" forward. There was no leg room loss that at all noticeable. While the back seat was out I bolted the amp down to the floor then removed the jack and then cut the carpet to the top of the box. Me and a buddy built the box.

Very true. Especially with a 2000 watt rms sub and a good amp! All turned down to lower levels of course. I really like my treo sub and the JL 13.5 subs are awesome as well.

Probably should invest in some sub covers to keep them from hitting the back seat.
