New Garage/Shop

It's not quite drilled angle iron, the holes are not round, they are wider at the top for the tabs on the shelf supports to drop into (3 tabs on each end) the center uprights are perforated in two directions to make a "joining" connection. I am planning on Advantec, that is what the contractor (wife's cousin) used on the storage area floor.

Here are some better pictures of the shelf supports and the 3/4" Advantech shelves.
In the back of the woodshop area, these are 4' wide X 2' deep.
Closeup of the end uprights, there are 3 tabs on each end of the shelf supports that lock into the uprights.
Advantech shelves on the one in the garage area, these are 1' X 3', piece on the floor is the under width end from a 4' X 8' sheet.

Well, I did a little more today.
Got a few things on the shelves in the garage today. From left to right, top to bottom: FWD powertrain support, Old truck radiator and T-bird fan, manifolds from 2.5L Chrysler turbo engine and Kohler V-twin crank, Chrysler turbo-II radiator and another T-bird fan, Chrysler 2.5L Turbo long block, Chrysler 2.5L turbo transaxle.

Bill I do like the shelving. What do you do if too tall?
When I set up shelves in my first house I bought https://www.lowes.com/pd/edsal-72-in...g-Unit/1000527
and a lot of them. Think I had 5 down 1 wall, 4 free standing in the middle of my basement and 2 more on a back wall as a bench.
All that came down with me to NC and have it set up in the shop side of my garage.
Besides them set up on the wall I have 3 units set up as a large bench with stuff stored under it.
That wood shelving was down the whole wall the metal shelves are now, the other half went out to the garden garage.
I also have a few metal shelves setup in the house garage to store house hold items on.
Only thing I don't like of the shelves is the wood is press board junk and over time with weight they sink. I could cut better wood but I am no carpenter when it comes to cutting straight.
As for that small shelf with the jars, I have 2 sets of the same brackets in my garden garage where all the yard tools and tractor is kept and I hang the weed wackers on the hook ends.

That is why I paid the extra for the Advantech, it is like pressed board, but uses an epoxy rather than plain glue. It does not come apart and is damn strong.
I had already thought about sticking a weed wacker across the front.
As for height, if I ever locate some more shelf supports, I will address that then, but I have both a 6 foot step ladder and a 20 foot extension ladder. That is why the 2.5L Chrysler long block is on the bottom shelf and the transaxle is on the floor.

I just looked up the Advantec sub flooring and if I ever feel the need to replace the wood I will go with it then.
So far I am still using the wood that came with the units.
The hooks do make great hangers for the wackers.
Side note: when I moved to NC from CT we used Pods. I set up the shelving in the Pods to fit across 1 section, filled the shelves used cheap plywood to section off that section and did the same to the next section.
That's how I got all my car parts and shelves down here. The plywood got used in the addict over the rafters so I could have more storage up there.
