I finally finished framing the wall today. I have to add some more bracing back to the shell of the building then work on mounting the Overhead doors before I close it in.

I see you have the panel mounted already!

Is there a permanent feed stubbed up through the plate in that location?

I'm liking how a simple piece of angle can attach directly to the bolts holding the shell together.

... Oh, and for Gary's sake "Progress is good!"

Jim, the feed will be through the front wall directly from the meter. Right now I have a temporary 50 amp RV feed (actually 2 50 amp legs for 100 amps @ 250 VAC) coming in through the back of the panel so I can power things like the door operators and lights the way they will be permanently.

Once I have set up the braces, then comes the real fun, mounting the doors, I want to do that before I close the wall in.

I'm guessing you have some kind of fork lift to get those monsters into place?

Why is the electric company giving you a hard time?

The electric company isn't giving me a hard time, I need a wall for the meter base to mount on, then need to have the electrical inspector clear it for hookup.

As for the doors, I have my CM 3 ton chain hoist and another 1.5 ton wire come along, I plan on lifting each door in stages, one end to the other until they are in place. The reason I want to do them before the wall is closed in, I can be outside to put the bolts in rather than under them.

Please be careful Bill!

That's not only a lot of weight, it is an awkward load.

I don't need to tell you.

Today I finished the wall bracing. I used some perforated angle so I could span a long area as the longer roof panels are 10' long from the end holes and I wanted at least that much. The left side I only went a little more than 10' as the next joint over is in-line with the walk-in door hinge side. Right side I went as far as I could since that covers the two tall king posts and most of the 8' door.

Wow that's a looooong ladder! But, good so far. You are almost ready to start closing it in - and rightly so as it'll start getting wet and cold soon.

Heck, it's only extended three rungs.

I've got a 3 section fifty footer that is downright scary to try and handle by yourself.

LOL! Handle it? By yourself? Yikes! And then there's climbing it. No thanks. You should have seen me going out on the Eiffel Tower almost on hands and knees.

I think he said it's 34 feet, the other one is 20 feet, that's mine. I'm not real keen about being up on something with nothing around me.

Now that the wall is framed and braced, I hoisted and attached the 10' door. I still have some adjusting to do and am waiting for a delivery of some angle to replace the missing pieces. I also have to install the operator and adjust it, wire it and add the manual chain and clutch rope.

Here are the two items I raised it with, the first is a CM 3 ton hoist, the other is a no name 1000 lb come along.

Good job. That door looks heavy. Any idea how much it weighs?

Gary, as to weight, I don't really know, I would guess probably 12-1500 lbs if not a bit more. BTW, you were correct in me not seeing your newest thread, I was working on the other door and continuing on the 10' high one. Here are today's pictures, I waited till it was somewhat dark and then plugged in the lights and took them. First is the 10' door and operator, second is the 8' door and operator.
