HEY
I HAVE A 2001 F350 PSD WITH 108,000 MILES. FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS IT HAS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT OUT OF 1ST (4R100 AUTOMATIC). IT STILL DRIVES WONDERFULLY OTHERWISE. I TALKED TO A "FRIEND OF MINE" WHO IS A SERVICE MANAGER AT A FORD DEALERSHIP. HE SAYS THAT IT IS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM AND SHOULD JUST REPLACE THE TRANNY TO THE TUNE OF $3,000.00. SOME FRIEND HUH! I THINK THAT IT IS PROBABLY A SENSOR OR POSSIBLY A VALVE PROBLEM. ANY IDEAS?
Yes and no. I changed the filter and fluid, but no I did not flush the trans fluid completly out do you think that might help? By the way Theologan it was not my intention to be impolite, I'm just not thinking straight my baby's sick. Thanks dlcslcman. I'm thinking you may be on to something. A friend of mine has the identical truck, had the same problem and a simple fluid change fixed it.
