Looks awesome!

I hate that stuff too. Do it right or just don't bother..... But when you pay to have it done wrong... I have no patience for that...

So, what about the floor pan? Sand it and POR or Chassis Saver it?

Yeah it really pisses me off and now I have to figure out how to fix it.

Yup, I'm going to tackle that when it gets warmer. It's just the drivers side but I'm going to remove all the seats carpet and pull the wiring up POR it then sound deadon and replace it with a black carpet. To better match the trim and dash.

Once all thats done ill just need to reapolster the seats do they are not light gray and everything else is charcoal and black.

hey guys, so the rain held up for a little while and my medicine kicked in so i had plenty of energy lol here is my progress from today.

I removed the following:
Fuse Pane
Plastic main dash trim
air bags
steering column
started to remove some remote start hack job wiring

I found this at the front of the dash, are the trucks prewired for auto lights? this looks like the light sensor usually mounted in the center of the dash.

tylus i tried mounting the 08 wheel to the 04 dash and it doesnt not fit, the 04 column however has slotted holes unlike the 08 column so it can be mounted to the 08 dash frame but the 08 column has just regular holes so it wont fit the older dash frames.

Here are the coluns side by side...this will prove to be a challenge and may require some creative fab work to reuse the auto shifter. I am open to any idea's on this, i had thought about trying to change out the shaft inside with the 08 one so i can use the 08 wheel and the 08 plastic trim i would mod to fit on the older column.

I got the dash removed today!

Here is is with the metal frame and ducts out, also I pulled off re soldering the screwed up door lock wires in my door jam and now they should be working properly again. Not in this pic but i scrubbed everything because there was so much dirt and dust everywhere so she is squeaky clean now.

Even bigger news is the 08 Frame is mounted and she fits nearly perfect! I may have to bend a bracket but I need to mount the plastic to be sure if i can or not.

Here is the frame mounted:

During the week I will be removing the frame for some paint and then she is getting re installed so I can mock up where all my wiring is going to go. Also stay tuned for a lot of wiring such as my new switches, new remote start, and any other little tid bits that need to be done. The dash panels should be all painted by the weekend as well.

Here is there i plan to mount my new Fuse panel for all the accessories i will be adding, it is on the heater core right next to the glove box which i test mounted earlier to check for clearance.

Stay tuned guys this I'm getting excited this should be done fairly soon, the steering wheel seems to be my biggest challenge.

Amazing what a can of silver paint can do to a rusty old dash frame, i removed all the clips and little square threaded things that you screw into before painting.

I hope to get some other pieces of the actual Dash painted tonight then i will order more cans of paint based on what i got out of 1 can of each step. At least its warm enough to finally start painting things.

There's a reason that piece wasn't painted from the factory. Lots of stuff probably grounds to it, and paint is going to fork up the ground.

I know, There are only three ground wires coming from the dash. Once i find where they reach I am going to need to drill and tap a tole for them anyway or extend the wires elsewhere. I painted the whole thing initially and am going to wire brush the paint off in spots i need it and around all the mounting screw heads so that the grounds should be ok.
