Mickey Thompson Alcoa Wheels - Selling???
I got a set of MT Alcoa wheels on my '77 f250 and I am wanting to switch over to a black steel wheel. I've been told the MT Alcoa's are a very desirable set of wheels and not to part with them. I'm not a big fan of shiny alloy wheels and not attached to these wheels so I am thinking I will try and sell them.
What do you think I should ask for them and anyone have a suggestion for what wheels I should start looking at?
thanks!

Mickey Thompson wheels are made in China, not by Alcoa...pictures would help a lot.
the FORD OE Alcoa wheels that look somewhat like Mickey Thompson wheels are worth a decent amount, I wouldn't expect to get more then $100/wheel for a used wheel though, for the OE Alcoa's. If they were Mickey's, I wouldn't even bother buying them used as they are so cheap to begin with.

As stated...Mickey Thompson and Alcoa are two totally different brands/manufacturers. Alcoas aren't cheap new...as a used set, I'd say you're doing pretty well in the $300-400 range. If they're MT, I'd say you're doing well in the $150-200 range.
Those do look like Alcoa's to me though...that's pretty much all I run. Those are not the MT classic 2's...and it's been a while since I've seen a set of classic 1's. Only way to be certain though is break down the tires and have a look at what's on the rim.

i've seen Mickeys that looked like either honestly. its made in China stuff, they are just buying from whoever has them in stock at the overseas foundry anyway. don't forget about all the other "knock-off" distributors that buy Mickey T center caps and sell them with shady wheel packages as such. anyway it would take about 5 minutes for the OP to pull a wheel off his truck, take a brush to it and see what it says. it will have Alcoa on it somewhere if its genuine.

Well I am sure those are 16.5's, at least the tires are Goodyear Wranglers RT II's, 36x12.50x16.5 military HUMVEE takeoffs right?
Just because they have a MT center cap does NOT make them MT, look at the back side for manufacturing stamps.
Brian I think I have a set in the tire barn.....PM me.
