285/75....vrs 265/75 will they fit

02 350 c/ 4x4 with the original stock wheels that came with the xlt package i believe the wheels are 7 inches wide, need a new set of tires for winter and would like to get a set of 285/75R16's. some sites say the 285's require a 7.5 to 8 inch wheel, while pricing a set the salesman said "oh sure they will fit no problem" but then he was trying to sell me a set of tires.

looking for advise will the 285's work the stock wheels, and looking at hannok or goodyear tires,or??????

They will fit perfectly fine... I ran that size on my truck for a long time with no issues. I agree with Miles about the duratracs. I ran those in a 285/75-16 .... no problems at all and they are a badass snow tire. They do good in mud and sand too

This is right on time.......I'm looking to go from 265s to 285s.

I'm looking at Michelin LTX M/S. They were on the truck when I bought it 4 years and 140,000 km ago.

yep, wanted the wide tire look without the wide tire toll (rolling resistance), not to mention the warranty (285 was the biggest size from Treadwright that is warrantied). i feared they'd look more poked than they do, but they're working great and wearing flat.

I went to the Firestone Destination A/T in 285/75/16. We were on a trip to Branson towing our 5th wheel and had an issue with a tire that was on the truck (different brand in load range D). Best deal I could find was on the Firestone's, not as aggressive looking as I wanted, but they are laod range E and are wearing really well.

The only issue you may have is with them rubbing on the mud flaps, if you have them, at full lock. Mine did but I cut the spacer that holds the inner edge in half and now they don't rub. But if you don't have mud flaps then you will fit no problems
