Hi Folks......Looking for a replacemnt gas tank for a 61-unibody f-100...Does anyone know where one could be had ...Thanks in advance....alan

 

Is yours in the cab? If so, It should be the same as the F100-F350 from 61-66. I may be wrong.

I do not think you will find a new or aftermarket "incab" tank due to the liability involved. I would suggest a salvage yard or internet search for a spare tank for sale. Try the clasifieds on the right side menu. You might get lucky.

 

Where are you lacated and hoe soon do you need it? Mine will be coming out in the future. I just need a little motivation to finish the under bed conversion I'm working on.

 

I also have one, but on the East coast.

I'm in Georgia ,but the friend who needs the gas tank is in Alabama..his computer is down is why I'm the one looking for him.....What would it take to ship something like that?..THANKS

 

I have an extra tank...Email me off list...and I have sent one b4. It cost me less than 17.00 ground UPS.

If I remember correctly the in cab tank from a 67-73 series truck should fit also.

 

you may be in luck my friend. I have a 61' stepside but im almost 100% sure that the cab and tank is the same for the unibody. We're going to get a new tank under the bed and needless to say, we wont be needing the one in the cab. We're in the process of restoring the truck right now, so it may be a little bit of a wait since i need a tank in it to move it around for now. As soon as i can find a retrfoit kit to put a tank under my bed though, that puppy is out of my cab like a fat kid in dodgeball. I live in Danville/Walnut Creek California, area code 94526. Sometimes its hard getting parts for the 61-66's and its always great to help other 60's era trucks out!
