1985 F250 Regular Cab, Matte Black Rattle Can Job.

Well, Some people were wondering how this went, Here it is. Let's just say, It looks MUCH better in the pictures. in person you can tell, it was, well, spray paint.

this was done with rustoleum "Camouflage" Black Spray paint, 3.64 a can from walmart. I used 5 1/2 cans. toks 4 hours ish.

Not the best, But better than before!!!!!!

do you folks think I should do a second coat? Would that cover the "Lines" where you can see the pattern I painted it in?

I'd go with another coat or two, its pretty thin in some areas. Maybe even hit it with the wet sanding.

I'd wet sand as another poster suggested, but do the second coat with an electric paint sprayer. You can get one from Home Depot (like this Wagner Flexio 590 HVLP Paint Sprayer Kit-0529010 at The Home Depot ) clean it up real good and return it next day. Then get some of that industrial paint (in black) from Tractor Supply (like this Majic® All-Purpose Enamel Oil Base Gloss, 1 qt., Matte Black - Tractor Supply Online Store ) --- or just a second coat with spray cans.
Good luck.

I second giving it another coat with a spray gun. If you have acess to an air compressor Harbor Freight's air HVLP gun works really well for $13 or whatever it is. Even cheaper if you have a 20% off coupon.

I bought the two gun package, both guns are silver with purple on the tips. I've read that those are much better than the all purple guns. So far i have had pretty good luck shooting primer with them. I don't know about how well they will shoot paint yet though.

Looks good. Good choice in black. My dad did his old dump truck cab red with rattle cans. Six months later it was pink!
