Mild Rim & Tire Upgrade

I have a 76 f150 4x4 with stock rims and tires. I'm looking put a little larger rims and tires. I want a wider footprint and a little lift without upgrading the suspension.

Can anyone recommend a good size for the rims and tires?

Thanks

What size tire/rim are you starting with? On my 4wd F250, originally 8.75 x 16.5 from the factory, I went with 245/75/16 tires on 7" US Wheel Chrome Steel wheels from Summit. The tire is a moderate upgrade from stock in height and width and I like steel wheels. The 8.75 width looks silly IMO on these trucks. 16" tire availability is much better than 16.5". Also the US wheels cleared my twin piston calipers. The US wheels are also made strong with a high load rating for my application.

I could have gone bigger and wider... why not? Not so good in rain and snow and increases effective gear ratio. I want to retain pulling power w/o gear change. Also not my cup of tea.
