Amen brother although I would go back a bit further. I've said for years that car manufactures stopped making good cars around 1965. I never have been a big muscle car guy.

Post lots of pics, you need to make Jeff extremely jealous.
I look forward to watching your progress.

Been awhile since I posted anything on my progress, so I thought I would give Jeff something to drool over. Had to take some time to get the Model A ready for the drive to Viva Las Vegas, but have been back on the truck for a couple of weeks now. First, a pic from the drive to Viva. This was on the way, coming out of Albuquerque. Return trip looks the same, with the sun on the other side and more bugs on the window. Don't have any pics in between, could not find the camera in the chaos!

Well, I'll add my welcome Sturtz!

Nice truck, and nice to see another Harley in the same shop.

As far as the truck, I have been driving it for about a month and a half trying to work out bugs. The side pipes were too low under the running boards, so now they will be frenched into them. Front end rides OK, had some problems setting up the old pwr steering pump to the mustang rack and pinion, but a Heidts pwr steer regulator really makes steering just right. Two extra teeth in the grill sets the kustom look.

A new right hand door to replace the cancer riddled on has been purchased, at the same time a ford script heater was also found and tested. Blower motor works and core tested up to 15psi. Can't believe the guy sold it for 35 bucks! In the back ground is my next project, '62 15ft starcraft Saber runabout with a 70 horse Johnson. It looks good behind the truck.

Finished the trans cover, complete with cup holders, and trying a old wood rimmed steering wheel. Still trying to get the speedo calibrated, but it works smoother than any old one I've seen that hasn't been restored. It is a long way from being ready for daily driving, but I'm getting there.

Thanks Jeff, I know you really want to get yours to the point of being able to drive it. It'll happen soon enough. Probably gonna steal your idea for the electric fan, couldn't get my six quite in the right spot to run the stock one.

Looks great! You have 52 front hood trim on a 51 hood. Also, the stock speedo location is in the right side hole and the instrument gauges are in the left hole.

I have a couple 51 front hood trims if you're interested.

Thanks for the info, Panelman. The truck is built from both a '51 and '52 parts trucks. The '52 hood trim is all I have. The spears on the side of the hood are actually from a '51 Chrysler New Yorker. And I am switching sides with the speedo/gauge cluster because the change in column angle and smaller wheel makes it hard to see the top of the speedo in the original position. When I get to finishing the body and paint part, I may take you up on some of those parts.
