I need another for my '65 and was set on RH, maybe no?
Just another rebuilder, I would get one from the parts store for convenience.

I am happy with my new one (warranty) my steering it tight now. That being said I did have one failure so I can't say if it was just a fluke or a problem until I put some miles and abuse on this one and see if it holds up. I about ran over the curb on my first test drive after install because sheesh the truck turned when I moved the steering wheel.

Great to hear! With as much slop as we seen in your last box I bet it is like a whole new truck!

Sloppy boxes are no fun! LOL

OH yea? That's where I got the one I have now and the output shaft bushing / bearing is completely gone. Don't want to repeat that. This truck only sees about 500 miles a year, it's not like this box has a lot on it now. Lifetime warranty is great if you don't mind replacing it for a lifetime. I like one and done...

Oh yea? Christinas' Red Head went out in just a few months. I would spring for the lifetime warrantee myself. All you can do on those things is grind the worn parts down, add new bushings, replace the steel ***** and any other parts it needs. Redhead is just another rebuilder, oh! but they do paint the top red.

I got my core back today on my warranty replacement and also got the email Harvey had promised. Now take it for what's it worth but at least he did send me a note on what they found.

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--> In your case, there was a pin in the valve that came loose. That's what was causing the play.

Thanks,

Harvey

So with no new posts I'm assuming the new box is working good? Hope it is. Would you buy another one? Thanks for all your helpful threads.

Since my second power steering pump, I've had no more woes. It wasn't a red head issue, just bad luck with the first ps pump.

Where is a good place to get a PS pump? Ford, cheap parts outlets or another place?

I went to RockAuto, a sponsor here, but don't get the cheapest one there. Also ordered 2 new hoses, but not the hose to the reservoir.
