Power loss...
#62
I have a loaded round in ny buckzooka and am ready to pull the trigger on a new MAP sensor tonight. I just started a thread on which one to buy. As it turns out there are quite a few to choose from. I just asked tugly how I go about calibrating the new one but I don't think he noticed because I edited the post.

Ok just pulled the boost fooler out of the truck and the map to get the p/n and reinstalled the map but kept the boost fooler out. KOEO map still reads -0.4 on one gauge and 14.2 on another (both per torque app). Will be ordering new MAP tonight or tomorrow
EDIT: New MAP sensor is ordered and on it's way.

Let's visit this. AE can read Torque Converter Slip, that one with Transmission Temperature will tell a story.
As for the MAP... I don't remember suggesting it be replaced to help with power, but I do remember somebody getting a reading of a negative whole number - like -2.0 or something. Too much data in my head.

Alright I'll check slip on my way home, what am I looking for? The power loss was before the transmission went out and it has a brand new converter in it trans was rebuilt around 8k miles ago. I haven't had a chance to put my gauges back in today's the first day it been relatively warm and I'm swamped with stuff to do. The map sensor is being changed regardless new. Someone said it shouldn't read negative pressure.
It drops out of lock up because there isn't enough power to push through in od. It struggles constantly. When I put it in 4wd it's impossible. 2wd it's manageable but annoying

I didn't realize which thread this was I'm going to add the power woes thread here and this one to the other one so anyone looking later knows this is the same problem and same truck. Lets fall back to the thread you started tugly. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...wer-woe-3.html

You should get very near zero slip in TCLU. Downshifting to 3 is one thing, but losing TCLU is another. The torque converter won't lock until the transmission temp reaches about 55-60 degrees F. If your Transmission temp doesn't climb above that after a while of driving... that's an issue.

Fuel pressure was at 72 psi idle and 58 wot when I had the gauges in my truck (not verified recently). I was going to sell it because I couldn't figure out the problem but decided to keep it because I like it TOO much....
Trans temp is uncertain but with it being mid 30s this morning and 15 miles stop and go red lights I assume it's warmed up as much as it's going to before I get on the express way. It still shifts great and the tugger kit is definitely still doing it's job. My trans temp gauge (that isn't in the truck) doesn't start moving until 100 degrees
