Here's my suggestion, pull the chip and see how the truck runs. You might have a bad connection with the pcm, maybe it wiggled a little loose over time....
Ik when my truck was stock (without chip) it wouldn't pop out of lockup for a hill like you described
It's worth a shot. I have stock tune on my dp when I put it in stock then go to another tune it used to make a HUGE difference. Now the only real difference is how touchy the throttle is plus a little more power but nothing like it used to be. The air is there the fuel is there but the power isn't.
How do I go about doing a contribution test? What will I be looking for? I know nothing about it.
Its an option on scanners (AE) and its going to test to see if your injectors are failing.
I personally think it might be an injector problem your having, could be as simple as oil or fuek getting past the orings maybe you have a broken nozzle and the fuel being injected isn't atomizing like it should.
I don't know to much about injectors so don't quote me on it but I was hoping if I mentioned it somebody who knows injectors better and how they act when there notworking properly would jump in and elaborate further.
To the best of my knowledge there still the stock sticks. I bought the truck with 89k miles on it and now it has 121k miles. Injectors crossed my mind but with that low of miles I'd be mad if they were tired already.
I used to be able to bark both rear tires shifting into second gear with an auto trans and now I can't even spin them from a dead stop.
just wondering, how old are your tunes? more than 4 or 5 yrs. you may want to update.
If I had to guess I'd say 3 years old. I like the tunes the way they were before the loss of power, if I can get back to that power level I'd be a happy camper. What's the point of updating if your happy with the tunes? (Not trying to sound sarcastic or be a smart ***) They don't go bad lol.

I've been brain storming for a year or so now and keep coming up short. I was hoping I was overlooking something but I've covered most of what I can think of.
Oil pressure stays the same or at least close enough the gauge moving doesn't catch my eyes and LPO is the middle gauge in my pillar so it's in my face.
Tugly, which part are you talking about? Post #? My phone is jumping and skipping to random pages every time I click on your link.
Post #58 in his AE Class II thread. Have you consider HPO problem? Do you have AE, and if so, have you logged any WOT data. Being that your power loss has been gradual and over a long bit of time, 1 year, perhaps your HPOP is getting tired. What do your EGT's look like? Low ICP and high IPR would result in increased Fuel Injector Pulse Width, causing over-fueling and higher EGT's...that is of course if I'm understanding Tugly's data regarding low ICP/High IPR/loss of power/high EGT. Have you checked the ICP sensor for oil in the plug?
I do not have AE... A time like this it could pay for itself but the funds are not there. Egts are around 7-800 at 65ish down the expressway at 70-80* ambient air temp. If I recall they used to be around 600* but I haven't been driving the truck much in the past year until recently because I blew a head gasket and cracked the head on my dd.
icp sensor is about a year old with no oil in it. With the truck running and I unplug it, it studdered and caught itself (which is what it's supposed to do correct?).
What Tugly was talking about in that thread makes perfect sence. At high rpms the truck falls on its face and when it shifts... Watch out neck snapping time. I also noticed in the upper rpms that there seems to be more black smoke than before. There used to be a haze but now it's about double what it was. He also touched on false boost. I used to max out at 27 psi and now I've seen 33. That's a lot more boost for nothing "changing".
I don't have ae but I have a scanner and an app on my smartphone that I can monitor icp and ipr with and it can datalog, if your interested let me know and id be happy to hook it up and see whats going on
