53 F-100 upper cab mount cups

Bringing this back from the dead. I am looking at cab mounts on my 53 and I don’t have that bracket welded to the cup either. Just a cup that if you look close at the floor it was just there. Doesn’t appear to be welded or anything. Do I replace it with the new style. What would this do to fender and hood alignment?

Just because your don't have it now doesn't mean that you never had it...the truck came from the factory with the bracket and cup in place. Yes, you should install the proper bracket/cup assy, This will not affect your hood/fender alignment...of course that is assuming that someone didn't align the front sheet metal with the front cab mounts collapsed. Either way, return it to the way it came from the factory.

I am ordering new cab mount bushing and that L shaped mount.
Like someone mentioned above that maybe it’s possible the 53 didn’t have that L shaped bracket Just the cup piece

Hmm, Ford must have seen a weakness and made a change perhaps even mid year.
Other examples: in 1954 they added cross pieces from one air deflector to another. In 55 they added two rectangular depressions in the hood latch panel perhaps for strength. But they are also good for placing nuts and washers. In 55 the solenoid was mounted on the firewall instead of the frame. My late build 54 has it on the firewall.

One more time bring this from thread from the dead, but it seem to be an important topic especially since I am at the same place replacing worn out rubber parts.
As FullyFord said my truck has been in my family since 1970 the owner prior to my dad had painted the underside of the body and frame with red oxide paint which was used to paint bridges and ship to prevent rust. My truck is mostly rust free even today even though it spent most of its life in western PA after it was moved from Kentucky. I know the cab was never removed even when I did a makeover in 1979/80 and removed everything except the cab. My 53 does not have those plates, only the cup attached to the underside of the cab, well broken off now and I have cracks in the cab floor around the mount area which need to be welded up. I thought most of that happen due to rubble be completely deteriorated. It looks like the 53' did not have the extra plate and space between the cab and cup.
Order new cab cups and the other bracket BAAA-8102060-PR that goes on the frame cab support. I was wondering if should have ordered the cups with the L-shape support that CharlieLed welded in. I was not looking at pulling the cab off the frame just replace the worn rubber parts and the rusted cups. If a Cab had those cups and l-bracket originally from the factory, there would be evidence of them being there such as welds that broken off. I can now curious if these was original as some people indicated why are they not on all the cabs, seen a number of pictures of undersides of cabs posted online and have not seen them.
