Good Morning Everybody!

It was a long day yesterday. I finally called it quits around 2100.

I got the C-cab rolling! Woo Hoo!!! It's really starting to look like something now. I'm pretty excited about it.

I also got a few loads moved over to the new shop. I'm waiting on my friend to drop off his truck and trailer so I can get the rest. I'm trying to leave the small parts and clutter here and only have shop equipment at the new place. I'll let you know if that actually happens. It sure is nice to be able to move around BOTH shops and not knock anything over.

I also got the starter replaced in the Chevelle (again) so it seems to be ok for at least the time being. I used a factory high torque this time. My hope is with the extra mass of the heavy starter, it won't kick sideways like the little one did.

I need a few more days like yesterday to really make a dent in my "to do" list.

I'm off to the "job" for another fun filled day!

Yep. You sound just like her.

Good afternoon boys and girls. Happy Tuesday, albeit cleverly disguised as a Monday...

Might drive the truck to work tomorrow...just cause I can!

Evening all!

Well, I put another 3 miles on the Chevelle. I drove it over to the new shop tonight. It's parked in there next to the Impala and a ton of crap that used to be in my garage. After I finish moving the rest of the stuff, I'll take a picture I can't even believe myself. The garage hasn't been this clean since I moved in 5 years ago!

Be sure to check out the progress on the C-cab. It's almost a car now.

Just joining in on the chat.... Still waiting for the mailman to deliver my x3 tuner device from 5startuning... Tracking # says Sept 6th.
Really wanted to drive Ruby to work today, but had to take raspberry (my wive's Tahoe) to get a new windshield put in after work.
Having a late night working on client PC's... And an early start tomorrow... Gotta get this server back on site before my client opens at 8am for business.
Gonna take Ruby tomorrow, can't wait or the guys at work to see how she measures up to their Dodges.
My favorite quote of the day from my wife who had to drive Ruby to take the kids to school... "Your truck sure does have a lot of power, I kept spinning out when I would take off." Heh heh.. But there's goes my conservative driving higher MPG attempts!
I want to compare before and after the X3 Economy tune.... I'll keep ya all posted.
Have a great night all... It's a little cool in my neck of the woods tonight. Feels great, but I ain't ready for winter yet!

Rich you're going to get a good laugh out of this...

I have been mulling over how I'm going to get this welding done and apparently got rather moody about it last night. I really don't like having a problem hanging around without having a plan for what to do about it so I suppose I could have been.

My wife finally cajoled me into telling her what was on my mind. I admitted that I was stuck trying to figure out the best way to get the welding done for the camper without spending an arm and a leg. She gave me a puzzled look and asked if I had tried my arc welder. I gave an exasperated sigh and reminded her that I had already tried that and it wasn't strong enough either. She asked if there was something wrong with it since she couldn't hardly believe that it wouldn't work unless something was wrong.

Now it was my turn to be confused. I told her 70 amps just wasn't cutting it. She replied that her Dad said that it would weld darn near anything when she bought it for me. What the heck? Not wanting to get into a fight, I left it at that and we went to bed.

This morning I remembered what she was talking about. You see, I thought she was talking about this:

What my wonderful beautiful brilliant wife was talking about was this:

She bought this for me over 10 years ago for my birthday. She had called her dad for advice (didn't happen often) since he was a machinist to make sure it was something I could use. Since I didn't have a 220v outlet handy, I stored it in my barn for future use. I totally forgot it was back there. With a range of 25 - 230 amps, I think I ought to be able to get the job done.

I need to clean it up, inspect the wiring for damages, make sure my 220v shop feed is up for the job, and then bone up on my stick welding. It's not my favorite way to weld, but there's a job to be done so I need to suck it up and start practicing.
