ok, i'm digging this thread up again... I was a member under a different name... computer crash... anyways. i've got a 95 and a 87 f150's sitting in my driveway. I'm pretty certain i'm going with beams for a 5/6 drop on the 95. the 87, however is my daily, and would only like to do a 2/3 drop. my first question is this: What is the exact amount of drop that an axle flip achieves? I'm thinking of upgrading the 87 to some F250 rear leaves, and doing the axle flip at the same time. F250 leaves should add 2 inches in height, and then subtract 5 inches for a flip (i think thats what it is) should give me a 3 inch rear drop.... my logic making sense?

now, what would you suggest for a front coil to give 2 or 3 inches of drop without being stupid expensive....

And as for the 95 fronts, i want beams, but havent decided on a brand... suggestions?

For a 5/6 drop you will need
Beams in the front with 2" drop springs. (good luck with an alignment)
Rear will need a flip kit, shackles, and a good C notch.

2/3" you will need
2" drop springs in front
shackle and hanger kit in rear with shackle on 1st hole.

Orrr you can pull some leaf springs out of the spring pack in the rear. Thats the cheapest way. BUT you wouldn't be able to haul as much weight.

Ive used DJM for all my lowering stuff and haven't had any problems at all.

WHAT HE SAID^^^ you need to "C" notch the frame for a axle flip. Not exactly material for a daily driver.

I would just do drop coils and shackle . You keep your ride and payload capacity

well, the 95 is far from being a daily driver... and with no rear bumper or hitch (welded in a rollpan) i don't have to worry about towing... really, it's turning into a musclecar with a big trunk.

the 87 is my Daily...
