"POOCH TREATS", - home made...
If you get some rawhide chew-bones, plain and ordinary, you can improve them by steaming them in a pan with the drippings from any kind of meat you just cooked.
Even hamburger.
Puppies love a meat flavor - and a light dipping in some meat sauce left over from stuff you cooked for dinner makes cheap chewbones even more special to them...
~Just sayin'...
When the meat is taken out, you can drop some chew bones into the pan and put a lid on it and let the whole thing cool down.
It steams into them completely, and the pups will tear them apart!
Rufuss ate one that I just gave him up in five minutes FLAT....

Most diseases that dogs get, can't be transferred to a human - although:
RABIES is a prime exception
I have always followed the rule that what the dog understands as affection is a good way to express yourself to them.
I can't count the times I have licked a nose in return...
STILL: You can make a BATCH of "Specials" all at once, and deal them out over time
Next time you roast a turkey or brisket, and have leftover drippings think about it.
DOLLAR STORES are wonderful shopping placezzz
