Linked 98 f150 Build

been a lurker on the forums for a few years now. always had something to play in the mud with but never a build worth posting until i decided to link my daily and build a daily/toy. im more of a built not bought kind of guy and this is my first real offroad build so go easy on me, progress is slow as i only get to work on it during the weekends

the build
98 f150 4.6L
03 superduty axles
3 link front
4 link rear
divorced np205
have a 70mm turbo 62lb injectors, lightning 90mm maf with a 255lph walbro ready to go in once the suspension is done

after 2 years of driving it stock i threw a basic leveling kit with 3 inch body drove it to work once and said no way am i driving a lumber wagon. ive been collecting parts ever since and recently started on her.

also this is always mentioned in other forums. yes i know the cinder blocks are improperly stacked they were like that for an afternoon and now only support the tranny.

heres a tonne of pics

Agreed.

Very nice start to what appears to be a kickass build. The only critism I have is build a real panhard bar. A sleeved stock bar with bushings is going to hate life

I was going to say something about the cinder blocks but then I went up and read what you had to say.

What was the reason you chopped the front end off?

Easier to fab off a boxed piece of tube.

Looking at the pics...

You really should consider lowering the panhard angle. What size DOM did you use for the radius arms?

The arms look like 2x2 square tubing.

Those are 03 axle's and there that rusty?? They are more rusty than the ones under my 77.

Looks like a cool build though keep the progress and pics coming

Alpha- Panhard bar is only to test it all before i use heims.
i was considering dropping it 3" but then its close to my pig any input?

460 ford man- frame was completely rotten from plow mounts and canadian salt plus why not start with clean material

the two lower links are 2x2 tubing. with 4" long dom tubing inserts to bushing. my boss runs a similar setup using 2x2 tubing on a 4 link setup in his truck and it allows flex and doesnt seem to split or break. the truck sits on 39's with a 500 horse SB 400 and is no stranger to air time. however my 3rd link will be DOM with one end a bushing and the other a Heim.

fatdan- had to sell the 44" hawgs simply too big for what i was trying to accomplish but im buying a cheap set of 38" Swampers so i can atleast beat the snot out of it while im saving for some nice tires, and work out all the bugs on the rig.

wish i had an update but been crazy busy at work, the weekend isnt far away though and everyone is on vacation so i can go hard at it. and im pumped people are actually interested in the build. im just trying to have fun and build the perfect daily/weekend toy

also.... for the rear im 4 linking it. ... the plan is to use no heims but only bushings with 5degree parallel lower links and triangulated uppers im not looking for a huge amount flex id rather build the rear stiffer to avoid body roll when on pavement. any input on this?
