Raw fuel smell
#77
Well as per my other thread I got the new fpr in and I thought all was well. Apparently not. I'm still leaking it looks like at the bottom of the regulator where that snap ring goes. Any chance I screwed somthing up reassembling it? Also is that hose that goes through there is the lip on that suppose to be inside the housing? If it is then that's pry my problem as it's outside right now. I tried pushing it back in but the motor was way too hot. If that tube isn't the problem looks like this might be a paid experience and I'll have to get another kit. Truck is gonna sit till I get this sorted out. Don't like the thought of my hard earned money dropping on the ground.

FEELING LIKE A MORON!!!!
FOUND IT!!!
The oring in the bottom was torn when I took it back apart. I feel so stupid!
I guess I like spending money...Going to have to order a new kit.
Its ok, I said this aleady, this is a good experience. Its also why you OIL new ORINGS.
Anyone reading this, don't make my mistake!! Just glad it was nothing more.
Another question while I'm at it, if anyone saw my other thread where I have pictures of the old regulator, does anyone think that it could be fixed? If so what method would you use?
END RANT. Thanks for listening. Hope everyones Monday is going great.
Actually I'm having an awesome day today, seriously, all this aside. I'm just thankful I have somthing else to drive while all this is going on.
Thank you all again for all the help. You guys are great!

Yeah I'll pry just do that. It's too bad since there isn't anything else wrong with it. If they Wernt so darn expensive new it would be different. Oh well.
New kit is ordered. Should be here in a couple days. Till then driving the hot rod Lincoln. Actually it's one of the most gutless cars I've driven. But it rides and drives so nice!

Got the second set of orings. Oiled them all up put them in and we are up and running! Drove the truck tonight and she ran out good like always. Going to keep am eye out make sure there are no more leaks. I actually felt that brass part seat this time, I didn't before cause I didn't use any oil. Lesson learned. Should be good to go for a while. Thanks again everyone for all the help and encouragement along the way!
