Probably the same reason the EMS front fenders never sold. Could have been other issues as well......any body ever see one of those EMS fenders? Seems somebody somewhere would have bought one......

It all depends, if you have the ability to repair your own fenders and the labor rate is zero your probably right. If you have to pay a body shop to repair the fenders at 50-70 per hour you might just be better off buying new ones. I will probably fix my fenders. Each one will require two to three patch panels and days if not weeks worth of work, oh well, that's the fun part of being retired.

Check this out... Technical 1948 -1942 F1 Front fender lowers??? - THE H.A.M.B.
The guy from EMS (who makes many of the patch panels) says they used to make front fenders for Bonus Builts, but nobody bought them, so they scrapped the dies?!?!

Well, I'm not going to call bs exactly, but I will say that is interesting news. And while I don't claim to be the definitive expert here, I have been into these trucks since the 70's and I've never seen or heard of anyone selling steel fenders for the Bonus Built trucks. I can't imagine anyone putting out that kind of outlay for tooling and throwing it all away. Unless it was junk.
