Sould be a simple HP/TQ question but.

OK, I currently have a 2013 FX4 Ecoboost F150, not a thing wrong with the truck at all, I would like to have a little greater trailer tow rating however.

I test drove a 2013 F350 powerstroke this morning, but to be honest I don't want to get into all of the diesel hassles and cost again. For me it would also be over kill in many ways.

I had a 2007 F250 Reg cab V10 manual, but foolishly sold it when I purchased the FX4 Ecoboost.

Now my question is, on a 2013 F250 with the 6.2 V8 and the window sticker shows it to have the 10,000# GVWR PKG does this mean it has the lower 316 Horse Power and 397 TQ rating?

I appreciate your assistance,

If you look at the spec sheets you will see that they use a lower rpm to come to with the 316 hp 397 TQ rating, it's the same motor and tune.

I understand that the Spec sheet shows two different RPMs as a reference to HP/TQ. Are you saying that with the 10K GVWR the 6.2 will still put out a top HP of 385 and 405 TQ.

Or is the top HP with the 10K GVWR going to be limited at 316HP?

The 10k specs still have the same hp and tq as below 10K, Ford just took the snapshot of the hp and tq curves at lower rpm, thus the lower rating. (ie 6.2 will produce 316 hp at 3,000 rpm and 385 at 4,000 rpm) This I assume is due to some stupid EPA regulations, simmilar to what they do to diesel hp and tq ratings in a cab and chassis truck. But I understand with a diesel they actually have less hp and tq, not the window dressing that is done with a gasser.

I appreciate all the assistance, guess I'll travel on down the road and see where this road ends. Or better yet, what I return driving...
