oh and if that second filter your talking about is the IPR then I might be ok. truck had receipts in it and it was replaced January of this year

Hows the Coolant leval OK??

the higher risk is if its an inject let go and go downhill fast to the point of it would be wise to Pull Over and Tow it

IDK Im thinking Cheech & Chong "Up In Smoke" LOL

Very hard to assess risk when we just don't know theres to many ???

The IPR does have a Screen

But the one I mentioned is under the Oil Cooler

Here is a Pic of it that's the HPO Reservoir under oil cooler

the Original one is likely blown out unless it got the updated one with a new Oil Cooler at any point

coolant level has maintained constant level servicing it is on my list of Maint issues to address. so basically let her have so that there wont be to much wear and tear on it but tell her to drive it like a glass wheel and pull it over at first sign of trouble?


sounds ok to me. I work nights so we might just share her truck Wednesday Thursday and Friday but she has to have it tomorrow. although I kinda want to burn some diesel out just incase it is the fact like a dummy I double the diesel extreme treatment so idk

as far as the screen goes. I got the Oasis report pulled this morning but haven't had time to look at it and there was a pile of receipts in the truck when I bought it I will have to go through it all and find out whats been done

Sounds Good Minimal drive would be safest just till you know


that AE will Dial you right in

you can check tons with it

it would be good to see whats happen in the past TO that may give a Clue once you look in them receits

I had a similar issue with my rig and black smoke. Not knowing the history if it was run for quite sometime like this the intake manifold cold be completely cloggged with a lot of crude. Someone gave me the suggestion, when I took the intake off there was barely enough space for air to pass. It took 2 bottles of simple green and a pressure washer to get it somewhat decent. After that I deleted the EGR and it runs better and smokes less than when the EGR was working.

Anyway something to consider especially if you pull the EGR and there is a lot of crude in there.

ok so heres an update......

got my AE scanner in yesterday and hooked it up this moring.....


pulled two codes:
#8 cylinder contribution-----theres the miss......

and cam sensor failure......


only question I have now is can I change just the #8 injector for now(strapped for cash)


and what would the bad cam sensor affect
