2007 Expedition Not starting after a flat tire
I tried starting my Expedition and it failed, I got out to check the engine and noticed the car leaning on its right side, the rear right tire was flat, changed the tire and tried to start the truck but with no luck, I was advised to push the reset fuel shut off button, but again with no luck.
If any one has a clue on what might have went wrong, please let me know I would appreciate it very much, thanks

Oddly enough, my wifes Expedition did about the same thing Saturday. She took it to the tire place who just put tires on it about a month ago because she had a low pressure warning light. the found a nail in it and patched it. When she got home and shut it off it wouldn't start again. engine cranks but wont fire up. I'm not hearing the fuel pump running so about to drop the tank and check it out. At least it happened in the driveway and not out on the road.

Skidog, any advice on getting the tank out? I consider myself pretty handy with tools and have worked on quite a few older vehicles but this is kicking my butt. The tank is dropped down but seems to be wedged between the rear floor pan and the rear sway bar. The elecrical connecter is also not wanting to come off after removeing the red lock out tab. Is there another "lock tab" holding it on? I'm not far from getting the sawzall out... hahaha
Also the lock ring holding the pump in is a p.i.t.a.!

Mel bayoumy, have you had any luck with your Expedition? I got the old fuel pump out of ours lastnight and found it burnt up at the electrical connector as others have found too. might be worth checking it out. If your fuel pump fuse and relay are both operational and you still dont have any fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail, chances are pretty good your pump is shot. Hope to have the new pump in this evening, weather co-operating, and get ours back on the road.

Got the Expedition back on the road Thursday night. I bought a fuel pump for a regular Expedition, (readily available vs. the one for the EL) and simply swaped the pump its self as the it is the same from both trucks. The whole assembly is different between the two but you can re-use the stuff from the EL and get back on the road. Maybe this will help some folks who have a high dollar yard ornament waiting on Ford to put out fuel pumps for the L again.
