Fuel Pump Runs all the time-F450 super duty
My fuel pump runs all the time with the key on weather the motor is running or not. My shop replaced it six months ago.
They now tell me that the computer is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.
Is there anything else that would make it run all the time with the key on? Thanks, Joe

I wanted to give an update on how I found the wiring problems in the truck.
I pretty much started out using a razor blade in most areas opening up the cable sheathing.
I knew the fuel pump relay terminal and traced the wire to the fuel pump.
Down near the tank I found a non standard red wire badly twisted into the main wire coming from the pump relay.
This wire spliced in came from a wire harness to the transmission, which it is not supposed to get power from there.
Upon disconnecting it the fuel pump still continued to run, so that was NOT the problem.
The only terminal on the computer that interactes with the Fuel Pump relay sends a GROUND to the pump relay to energize it and send voltage to the Fuel Pump.
There was noting wrong with that GROUND. In fact I cut that wire and the pump still operated.
I traced that wire and found someone had spliced another GROUND into that wire. Runs perfect now. Thanks all for the ideas..
