Rubbing alcohol is a good item to keep in the shop right on the work bench. Frinstance if you're painting something small and the acetone is on the other side of the shop, use the alcohol and a paper towel. Said ***** can be soaked in it over night (DON'T GO THERE). It's a fairly cheap, mild solvent and my choice as a surface prep for lacquer paint. That's what I painted this toy with

Thanks Scott, it was actually in Gilroy. Now it is the Long House. My great Grandfather was Joe Peralta.

The truck was Todd Vick's before I bought it-not sure if you know him. I was friends with his son Troy who passed in Jan. of 2013. I always have his memory with me while driving or working on the truck...I will definitely wave if I see ya and may have to go have a cold one!

loomed up the wiring in the engine compartment while it was raining yesterday. took 30 feet total, which surprised me. 10 ft. 3/8", 10 ft. of 1/4" and 10 ft. of 1/2"

looks like carb stopped weeping too! still wet on manifold in pics...but hasnt leaked for a couple days

hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday

I still have remnants of the original loom in mine. Of course, I used wiring from three different trucks which was nice to have.

Beautiful truck, Maltman! Love the clean look of a styleside shortbox.
Being the purist that I am, I'm not convinced that all of these trucks need to be lowered. I know it's all personal taste, but the stance of your first pic just looks so "right". Best of luck on the rest of this build, you're doing a great job! Mike in Mn.

Your build is looking good, what year was the truck? I see it has a 60 cylinder head but vacuum wipers.
