Keep on the 87-91 cab!! I went with a 92 cab on my 89, and it was a real PITA. Everything looks the same, but most of the important parts are off by just that little bit to make things a real headache. If i ever do it again, i will go with a 87-91 cab for sure. Take a look at this album, the red cab is a 92, the blue one is my stock 89:

The box I mentioned earlier wasn't as mint as I thought but I was definitely better then what I had. Going to try to go pick it up this weekend. So that takes care of that.
Still hunting for a cab. Got a few leads. My Brother-In-Law's friend has a 94 parts truck he'd sell me for $200 that isn't too bad off from what I can see from pictures. Some rust in the cab corners, door pillar corner and a little but under the doors. Would have to gut the interior to see about the floor.
It needs a complete new interior though.
Another guy down in southern BC might have a 95 cab for me and he's willing to deliver but he's on vacation at the moment so I have to wait a few weeks to get better pictures and more info. That one might be better since it comes from a place with less snow

With cash in hand I went to go pick up that box but found some more rot I had overlooked when I was checking it out before. I walked away with the seller saying he'd let it go for $300 if I changed my mind. Honestly it would've taken another $300 to get it solid. Back to square one again.
Got another lead on another box but this one will have to wait for the snow to be gone.

Well I'm back with some better news.
Last weekend I went and looked at box that looks pretty strong candidate for my build. The truck had a tree fall on and the front panel of the box is pushed down slightly but other then that looks really good. Has a spray in bed liner and a really solid tailgate.
Obviously when conditions are better I'll be able to check the ribs underneath but hopefully it's just a nice below as it is on the outside.
Today I went and looked at a cab. '95 F250. Without ripping out the interior I poked around most of the trouble spots on these cabs and it looks like it's in better shape then my original cab. Checking underneath as best I can and it looks like the floor is solid. The doors are in better shape then the one donor truck's doors I was going to use so that's a bonus.
I'm going to have to track down a power interior in grey and possibly a mid-90's 4.9L truck's wiring harnesses but it looks like I should be back on track assuming nothing major pops up on this stuff.

I went with the Super Duty bolts to make removable of the bed easier down the road incase a fuel pump goes out or something like that. I've heard the Super Duty bolts can rust up and the top can strip out. In the off chance none of that happens then it's just a Allen wrench and I can remove them without having to weld a nut to the top and getting a 2nd set of hands to help.

If you have already spend the money, go for it. I'd recommend coating them in waxoyl/grease if you can. And it never seem to be off chance - I dont think we've ever had a SD come in that we worked on/in/under the bed that didn't have issues getting the bolts out.

I already have them. I had planned to Never Seez, wrap that in Teflon tape and then another coating of Never Seez. Bed bolts do rust up like crazy up here. I've had to do welding nuts to the top, melt them with a torch and grind the tops off methods of removing them. If some of the Super Duty bolts come out then it's a win over normal carriage bolt and if not then I'll just have to do one of the methods I've used before.
