Vibration during left turn

Vehicle has a vibration most prevalent when cold during a left turn especially first thing in the morning. Feels kinda like 4x4 is on, but its not.

Tech test-drove it and tells me it needs "clutch packs".

Has anyone changed clutch packs to address this issue, and did it correct problem?

If I let him change them, am I in danger of screwing anything else up in the process?

& what the fuxa clutch pack anyway?

Great info. Thanks.
$900.00---wow! They are proposing to do mine under warranty so I guess I should be happy it happened now vs later after it runs out?

Yep, that's good it's under warranty. Get'er done!

Oh yeah, if that's ye truck there kicking up dirt - ye might want to stop that mess if ye want to retire from the old salt mine some day.

Sometimes you can resolve the clutch pack chatter by adding some more limited slip friction modifier (available at Ford dealer or auto parts stores) to your rear differential fluid. I had to replace the clutch packs in my 2000 F-150, so I went ahead and swapped in an Auburn Gear unit... Much nicer, but not rebuildable like the Ford unit. Now I'm glad I got the ELD... no more clutch packs.

Hi Big-Red-Lariat,

Just as an FYI, you can see if your vehicle has any applicable recalls by entering your VIN here: Personalized Vehicle Owner Information
