460 cam shaft

I need to know if this camshaft is way to radical for my engine. First off its a 1978 Lincoln 460. Its stock so far other than the 1970 straight up timing chain ive bought to put in it so far. Ill be adding long tube headers and hopefully a weiand stealth intake and maybe a bigger carb. the guy has it brand new in the box and will sell it for 100 bucks as its to small for his 800 horse 545. he said the card has 595 deg intake and 621 exhaust. With those future mods is this cam to big without doing anything to the heads? its going in a 84 f150 2wd with c6 and 9 inch limited slip.

That cam going to work with the low compression in your stock '78?

I can't find Ford Racing 460 crate engines anymore. They say they use that cam in M-6007-C460, but I can't find that engine on their site.

I did find this, check post 3:

What does these # tell me M-6007-C460 - 460 Ford Forum

If that cam was used by Ford in an 11:1 crate motor, I would guess it will be a complete pooch in an 8:1 motor.

You would probably have to swap springs and possibly other work as well, as the stock '78 springs would probably coil bind with the extra lift.

Best do your rebuild all at once. A part here, a part there and you'll go broke buying gaskets along with not getting much for your efforts.
