If your odometer is accurate, the best way to tell what you're getting is to fill both tanks, record the odometer, drive some, fill both tanks, calculate how many miles you went on how much fuel. YMMV (Your mileage may vary)
odometer correct, only using rear tank, like I said calculating mileage to this point has lately yielded 14.8.I'm pretty sure this was a fluke but when I fill up again Friday I will recalculate and post the results.With gas prices what they are I can have at least one week in fantasy land till my bubble gets burst.
If you fill up every 100 miles, you are going to get mpg calculations all over the place. If the truck is facing uphill and off camber it might hold 1/2 gallon more or less than it would level or downhill etc.
Well fantasy land is over but it was fun while it lasted.170 miles took 12 gallons so back to 14mpg.But still way cheaper to buy gas than pay a new truck payment and then you have to factor in the fact I love this old beast so it's worth it to me.
