Buy a Mustang, Camaro or Charger for a daily driver. You bought a work truck. On the flip side, you can probably outrun a Petey, KW or Mack.

Your option is to release that he may have the faster truck, but you have:

1. More Valuable Truck
2. More desirable truck (resale value)
3. Diesel..which is still the envy of many truck drivers. They just can't "justify" the cost and rationalize the gasser when they want the diesel
4. The tougher Truck
5. More Capable Truck

There are soo many reasons why I'll never buy a 1/2 ton when they work just fine. I prefer the bigger / tougher truck. There is no way I'd buy a 5.0 in a Truck. I can't stand a screaming motor going down the highway.

You can't expect an 8,000 lb Super Duty to keep pace with a 5,500 lb F150 if you're stock. The new F150s are pretty impressive for what they are. Add weight to the equation and yours would probably win, especially if you are towing up a hill because the F150 has a much weaker cooling package that would cause them to derate when they get too warm.

And Steve, of course they are more desirable. With an out the door cost of around $10,000 more they have to be in order to sell. Sniff sniff...I miss my F350!

if it was even a BASE twin turbo ecoboost you have nothing to be ashamed of !!!
those things are QUICK, almost violent , add $500 of tuning and they are scary fast !

(even in soccer mom explorer sports - ones been in the 12's already with just tuning )

I have to detune it if I'm not the driver because it will WRENCH the wheel out of momma's hand it's so violent between the 1-2 shift

H&S and full delete works!!

I spanked a 5.0 liter mustang one day and I think he may have peed himself a little!!.

I don't think any 1/2 ton made other than the Raptor or Lightning has a chance against a tuned and deleted 6.7. I haven't tried the Raptor yet but I think it would be close.

A new one or an old one? The new 5.0s have 412 HP and would be tough even for a tuned 6.7L truck.

It would not be close; the 6.2L doesn't do that much better than the 5.0L does. And the raptor weighs a good 6-700 lbs more than the 5.0L you spanked. A 5.0L F150 is faster than a 6.2L raptor in stock form.

It wasn't a 2011 or newer with that new 5.0 engine. It was the new style, but not that new. I agree that new one couldn't be beat - we just have too much weight!

Also helps that these kids don't know how to drive them - they weren't raised on muscle cars like most of us!

Okay, that makes more sense then. Mustangs from 1996-2010 had the 4.6L V8, and from '05-'10 they made 300-315 HP.

I had an '11 Mustang GT for about a year and that thing was an animal. Even on the Mustang forums you see track vids of tuned diesels beating them, but it takes a lot to get a heavy truck to move that fast!

I don't think there are any other stock trucks that can beat a tuned 6.7

Hot tuning...

He could have had a Roush Super Charger kit under the hood.
