New Guy, wanted to introduce and ask for advice

New Guy here and wanted to introduce myself. Name's Conner and I'm out of Leesburg, VA. I am looking at buying MY first truck. Always been a Ford guy, and even own a 2004 Mach1 Mustang still. I'm young, 23, but am getting ready for some Law Enforcement possibilities with CBP. Anyhow, I am looking at getting a 6.7L quad cab (4 door) and regular sized bed, not a shorty F250 Lariat.

Is there anything I should really be looking for on slightly used models? Or is it just better to see how the new trucks will unfold after trying to get some incentives and rebates? I do plan on keeping the truck for years down the road as well and want it as a daily driver and capable of towing a full car trailer with my Mach and pretty much all my moving supplies when I head out West. I also want something that I can take off roading (not BAJA blasting yet as I know suspension upgrades are a necessity), but be comfortable in. Also what can I do to the truck that won't void warranty? Just an after catalytic exhaust and ram air intake?

I guess I'm just looking for some pointers when I go looking for trucks and am wanting to do more research on when is the best time to buy.
-Conner

Anyways, here are some pictures of my Mach1 for your enjoyment.

Welcome Conner. Nice 'Tang.
You could check with Pat NE Chapter leader. He's got a crew cab 8' diesel that he's had some upgrades done to it. Forget the year.
