so to make a long story short, the 57 f500 i picked up to part out has a t98 four speed with the park brake drum on the rear of the trans. my 60 has the same t98 with the park brake on the rear drums, well, at one time im sure it had park brakes on the rear drums. from the way it looks, i can just switch the rear bearing/seal bracket off the 57 and bolt it onto the 60's trans and then i could have a functioning park brake and another lever on the floor. has anyone ever done this? does anyone know if this will be a bolt on swap? thanks...............................Mark

 

My 60 did not have this brake you speak of on the T98. I suspect somewhere between 57 and 60 they eliminated it.

 

Mark from looking at my parts book and manual the only difference other than the seal housing is the speedo parts but between the two units you should have every thing you need except the new seal.
