New to Broncos, potential purchase

I spotted a 94 XLT locally that looks very clean and original, claiming to be a one-owner. It looks like a garage king. No price in the window, couldn't make out the mileage. I am planning on going by the lot tomorrow to check it out and get some details. Kelly BB says it should list for around $4K without knowing exact options. What do I need to look for / watch out for with a truck like this? Thanks for any input.

First off, welcome to FTE. Main thing to look for is rust around the fenders, door jambs and floors. And any oil leaks under the engine and transmission, beyond that, just the usual new/used car inspection. And definitely take it for a test drive before buying it.

Update

Its got 306K miles on it, the 351, and every electric/power option I can think of. Asking price is $3500. Test drive after work tonight, but it all looks good. No apparent leaks and it hasn't moved for several days so if it was dripping it would show.

that is a lot of miles, need to ask if motor/tranny have been replaced at any point with documentation. the tranny going south in that rig runs $1800-$3500 to have rebuilt.

aside from that if it drives good go for it, i would probably shoot for closer to $2500-$2800 myself due to mileage.

I paid $2500 for my 95 XLT with 240K miles on it. No rust, some burnt out bulbs, bad passenger window, and a little play in the steering.

After 306k miles, everything mechanical that has not been changed is worn out, suspension parts, any moving part.Even electrical connectors wear out.Just be sure to look at everything b4 deciding. And that price is probably twice what I would consider offering, even if everything looks good. Hell my 78 has over 400k miles on it, but everything that hasnt been replaced, needs it. And slowly but surely I am doing it

With 300k+ miles I would want to see documentation of engine/trans rebuilds. Don't take their word for it, it'll only leave you stranded. The fact that it has that many miles and still looks brand new does make it seem like the owner took great care of it.
