'96 5.8 mild build recommendations

I have a '96 Bronco with 5.8L motor that is all stock, its a MAF motor with roller cam. I am looking for recommendations regarding camshaft upgrade and exhaust. Its a daily driver and just want to get a little more out of it. I will be running the stock heads and keep the roller lifters, dont want to use a flat tappet cam. Thanks for any input.

These are the cam specs you have now: .422/.445 lift, 256/266 (advertised) duration, 116.5 LSA. A set of 1.7 full roller pedestal rockers will bump the lift up to .445/.473 while shedding a good amount of friction in the valvetrain. This mod was good for 15 hp in the 93-95 Cobra 5.0

+1 on 1.7 rockers, the next best thing is replacing the whole exhaust with headers and a high flow system, and after that it's heads and intake.

Thank you for the responses. Is there anything special I would need to do when installing this type of rocker? Do I keep the original push rods?

No additional parts needed with these rockers but you will most likely have to clearance the PCV and oil fill baffles in the stock valve covers.

I decided to upgrade the exhaust first and am putting engine back together using original rocker arms for now. When I bolt them down I have little to no preload on the lifters. I have original cam, lifters, and pushrods so I called the machine shop and they said they just grind down the bottom of the rocker pivot blocks (not sure what they are called). I have never heard of this. I am thinking he cut the valves to short. What are my options now?

You're gonna need longer pushrods.
