2012 Ford Escape Message Center display dim in bright sunlight?
I have a 2012 Ford Escape and since I bought it new, I have always had a hard time reading the message center in the center dash on bright sunny days. I have already tried the dimmer switch procedure where you go all the way down and push it all the way back up to turn on the dome lights, but it doesn't make any difference. I don't have any papers on the dash covering the sensor up there, but I have tried putting some there momentarily to see if it makes any difference. At night, i can read it fine, and have noticed it changes brightness when it get's dark outside.
I am going to take it to the dealer and see what they say (since i'm still under warranty) and also take care of a passenger side window rubber trim that is starting to buckle. Anyways, I am just wondering if I am the only that has experienced this or if that's the way I am going to have to live with it. I remember driving my previous vehicle ('94 Ford ranger) and looking at the clock display on the radio and having no problem reading real quick.
Thanks for any info you all can give.

Getting your vehicle to the dealership is a great next step. Additionally, I want to do what I can to assist on my side of things, so send me a PM with your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name; I'll check out some options to help.

The dealer called and said it's working normal.
I couldn't figure out how to send a PM, but I called the 1800 number. They weren't able to figure any thing out or find anything. They said they would contact the dealer and see if they could resolve or find any thing wrong with my vehicle. They said I should be contacted back in like 4 days.
Oh well.

My 2012 escape limited has the same problem but all the dash lights are dim also until it gets dark. I had the Driving lights turned on at the dealership and was wondering if that has anything to do with the dim dash lights. Can't even see the mileage at day time because it so dim.Covering up the sensor does not make the dash lights brighter but at night they tend to get brighter.
