Anyone run toyo open country AT2's?
I'm looking to replace my BFG KM2's on my 2011 F250. I am looking at going bigger, and the size I want is not available as an E rated tire. Also, I am not very impressed about the tread life of them. I will have to be replacing them by the winter time, and I have about 25,000 on them. To make that worse I checked the pressures regularly and rotated them every 3k miles.
I have done a bunch of research, and would like to get an all-season tire that is aggressive by design, but lasts a while. It also has to be great in the snow, if not snow rated, because I plow in the winter. The KM2's did me real good in the snow, but I don't want to smoke through tires annually.
I am looking at either the Toyo Open Country AT2s, 285/75r17 in size. I like the fact they have a 50k mile warranty, they're about a 34x11.5, and they are E-rated. They are also snow rated, and in the size I want they have the extra tread. Also, as an AT I expect they'll be a bit quieter... the worn KM2's are louder than my exhaust, which doesn't even have the second muffler on the truck. Another perk is they are considerably cheaper than the Toyo MT or even the KM2, meaning more mods of course!
I was wondering what your guys' thoughts are? They last a while? But most importantly, how are they in the winter?
Thanks!
